A REGULAR READER OF THIS BLOG HAS DRAWN THE BLOGGER'S ATTENTION TO A FAST-BREAKING STORY APPEARING IN THE MEDINA GASSETTE, THE ORACLE OF MEDINA COUNTY REPUBLICRATS, ON DECEMBER 4, 2015. THE "ARTICLE" CAN BE FOUND AT http://medinagazette.northcoastnow.com/2015/12/04/court-returns-funds-to-shore-up-finances-as-medina-approves-budget/
ACCORDING TO THE MEDINA GASSETTE ARTICLE, LIKELY TO BE REASONABLY ACCURATE SINCE IT WAS NOT WRITTEN BY CUB REPORTER NICK GRUNT, NANCY ABBOTT IS REQUIRED TO TURN BACK A PORTION OF HER INFLATED BUDGET TO KEEP THE MEDINA CITY AFLOAT.
IN FACT, ABBOTT CLAIMS TO FIND HERSELF UP . . .
. . . AND NO PADDLE!
TURNING TO THE GASSETTE ARTICLE,
Council asked Nancy Abbott, clerk of the Municipal Court, to give back $39,000 in each of the next five years from what are called “carryforward” funds, surplus money from different departments that are rolled is into the next budget period.
Abbott’s $39,000 over five years comes to $195,000.
Abbott appeared to be perturbed by the cuts made to her budget. She said she had hoped to restore full-time status to one employee [ANOTHER REPUBLICRAT POLITICAL APPOINTEE] who went to part-time. She also has thousands of dollars’ worth of scanning to be done on court records.
HERE'S A SOLUTION TO NANCY ABBOTT'S FILE SCANNING DILEMMA: PERHAPS ABBOTT SHOULD GET OFF OF HER DEAD ASS AND START SCANNING!
JUST ONE COMMON SENSE SOLUTION TO A BLOATED BUDGET.
